6:15 PM There will be a short business meeting including the President’s Address by John Lastowka and the VP’s Tidbit by Chuck Mower.
The business portion of the evening will conclude by 7:00 PM and after a short break our evening program will start.

“Morality in the Movies” This program covers the period from the creation of the Hays Code ( which determined what could and could not be shown in movies) in the 1930’s up to more current times and the rating system employed today.
This presentation is about how American society’s standards of morality have changed over the years – not just Hollywood’s. The movies have just reflected that change.
Bio: I graduated from UNH in 1969 with a degree in Sociology, then began my teaching career at Alvirne in Social Studies in the Fall of 1971. Retired from Alvirne at the end of the 2003 school year. In 1989, I received a master’s degree in education from Rivier College (now, university). In the 1980’s and 1990’s, I also taught evening classes in the field of education. After retirement, I joined the Rivier Institute for Senior Education (RISE), first, as a student, then as both a facilitator and a student. I am currently still active at RISE in both roles.
